After a slightly unplanned break in Barletta due to some urgent work issues, we are now rolling again :)

There hasn't been any time to do it so far, but the morning we left Giovinazzo deserves a mention: In the morning, the campsite owners lit a big fire to burn all their rubbish about 30m (upwind....) from our tent. Needless to say we packed up in record speed after that, but some of our clothes still smell a bit smokey even now.

On the other hand, the town itself had a beautiful beachfront and after the morning had started so badly we made it up to ourselves by eating breakfast in a cafe. And here, the hot chocolate mystery from the other day found an explanation: the hot chocolate over here definitely has nothing to do with milk and cocoa powder. Rather, I got served a big bowl of what basically seemed like a combination of hot chocolate pudding, melted choloate bars and a dash of milk. Heaven!

Thus fortified, the 40km to Barletta were quickly done, and the work could be attended to in good time.

Today, we had another fairly short day due to the relative scarcity of campsites around. We made the most of it by spending the afternoon swimming in the sea - it is definitely warming up!

Oh, and I almost forgot: As of today, we've officially cycled over 1000km! I would say that makes us serious bike tourers now ;)
