Today we cycled to just before Ravenna. Some of it was the same old busy beach roads which are always quite tiring to ride on (especially now that the italian holiday makers are starting to come out in force!), but especially in the later part of the day there were also some really nice cycle paths.

The most notable adventure of the day was the climb over the fence we did in order to avoid having to retrace our steps at the end of the day - photo to follow!

Otherwise, we saw our first other tandem! Not a touring one, but it was still fun to greet each other - especially the little boy on the back of the other tandem was quite excited :)

Tomorrow we will do our very first cheating: In order to meet a friend of Matt's in Venice who we would otherwise miss by just one day, we will take the train from Ravenna to Venice tomorrow morning. It's only 150k, and actually looks like a gorgeous route on the map.... oh well. As a consolation, we will stop in Venice for more than a day and actually do some touristing for once. I am really excited to see the town! :)
