Well, today was a day out of the bike touring manual!

It was especially nice since our last cycle day hadn't been as nice: very steep ups and downs (a very steep down can be almost as tiring as an up....) and we must have somehow missed the correct cycle path as the streets were not nearly as lovely as the day before. Additionally, we had to spend another day in Mezzocorona due to work, which zapped our momentum a bit. One the other hand, it means that we are starting our main climbing time much better rested than usual....

But back to today: We got started at 8, and by 11 we had cycled 50k, passed Bozen, seen some marvelous river colours (soooo turquoise!) and found a lovely shady spot with a bench. After a nice (and early) pasta salad lunch, we only had a bit over 20k to go, although the uphill was more noticable by now. Still, way shy of 2.30 found us at today's destination Chiusa. We then had the pleasant surprise that the (stilll ridiculously overpriced) campsite turned out to be slightly less expensive than we had thought. The small town harboured an opportunity for strudel and iced chocolate that we did not turn down.

Now we look half-confident, half-optimistic to tomorrow, which is supposed to bring us up to Sterzing. And if all goes well, we will be in Innsbruck the day after! Lets see how that goes.....
